The Computers AND Colt 45 - Double Bill!

As seen by Mark ‘Roddy’ Holmes in Despatch – two great bands for the price of one at the Deaf Institute, Manchester: The Computers, and Colt 45. First up, The Computers…

Who

The Computers

What

Blues/ punk/ soul/rock'n'roll five-piece band from Exeter.

Think

A bit Elvis Costello, a lot The Hives

Where

The Deaf Institute, Manchester, 8 December

Verdict

Excellent. On a wet Tuesday night in Manchester, this was just what was needed. Led by the brilliant lead singer – Alex Kershaw – energetically goading the crowd, bar walking, balcony climbing his way through the gig, there wasn't a person left in the room who didn't enjoy it, all backed up by a very slick band. Very funny, very entertaining. Have a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1NfupZTZWg

Who

Colt 45

What

Punk/rock three-piece band from Workington, Cumbria,

Think

Manic Street Preachers/Alkaline Trio/At The Drive-In

Where

The Deaf Institute, Manchester, 8 December

Verdict

Due to Manchester Christmas traffic we arrived to see only their last three songs, but it was enough to make us want to see them again. See what you think: https://vimeo.com/97112597
